Shea Klitzke named Hockey Director

Milwaukee Phoenix is proud to name Shea Klitzke as their new Hockey Director. Shea joins the Phoenix with a ton of experience as a player, trainer and coach and will add incredible value to all of our skaters.

Shea grew up in Minnesota where he played High School and Junior hockey.  He came to the Milwaukee area to attend Concordia University, where he was a triple sport athlete lettering in hockey, football and golf. After graduation, Shea opened up The Breakaway Program (formerly Commit Fitness) in 2015 as a player development facility in the Ozaukee Ice Center. He continues to run the facility and oversees high-end summer programs for all age levels from youth to college athletes.

Shea is currently the Head Coach of the Concordia University ACHA team. During his tenure, he has been awarded NCHL Conference Coach of the Year,  has made two National Tournament appearances, coached two All-Americans and two National Players of The Year, and continues to lead one of the strongest ACHA programs in the Country.

For many years he served as the off-ice training provider for the Ozaukee Youth Hockey Association, and is currently the OYHA program’s On-Ice Director.

Phoenix Commitment

The Milwaukee Phoenix's main focus is skill development. Our goal in the long-term is to prepare players for the next level of Junior and College Hockey. In the shorter term, to improve every players skills set so they return to their WAHA/WIAA team a more well-rounded and confident player. Please visit our Alumni page to view past Phoenix players that have used the program as a stepping stone to higher-level hockey.

Our Mission is to provide the best possible coaching, quality management, and better, more consistent competition in Wisconsin, Minnesota, Illinois and Michigan. To serve as a compliment to player's "Home" programs by giving them a direct and more cost-effective alternative to a full-time AAA program.

Our success comes from giving players the visibility, opportunity, and skill & knowledge to play Junior and College hockey.
